Wiggins scorched the 52km course in one hour four minutes and 55 seconds, over a minute faster than second-placed Froome.

Emma Pooley of Cervélo Test Team also defended her title on the 32km course with a time of 44 minutes and 30 seconds, beating Julia Shaw into second place with Wendy Houvenaghel third. Nicole Cooke did not start.
