Race against Wiggins, Thomas and Swift

Bradley Wiggins, Tour of Britain 2010, stage one

Newly unveiled Team Sky partner, IG Markets, has organised a head-to-head cycle challenge where you can try your luck against Bradley Wiggins, Geraint Thomas and Ben Swift.

Team Sky riders Wiggins, Thomas and Swift will be pitting themselves against those who dares turn up at Broadgate Circle, London, EC2 from 10am to 3.30pm on Friday, November 26.

All riders will set their fastest time over a virtual one-mile course on a static Wattbike, rather than duking it out on the streets of London.

"Cycling is currently going through a renaissance and we believe it has a specific appeal to our target audiences. We hope that our commitment to Team Sky will help them continue their pursuit for success, whilst helping IG Markets promote its products to a growing audience both here in the UK and across the globe," said Tim Howkins, CEO of IG Group.

The first person to beat any of the Sky riders' times will win themselves an official Team Sky Pinarello Dogma bike worth in excess of £8,000. Fastest male and female on the day will win a Team Sky Replica Pinarello FP1.

Eurosport commentator David Harmon will be providing live banter, with the action relayed via a big screen.

To take part, riders must sign up in advance via www.igmarkets.co.uk/cycling.

IG Markets joined Team Sky as an official partner on Thursday, and will have its logo displayed on the team's kit during the 2011.

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, an exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
