Britain's Emma Trott has signed for the Dutch Nederland Bloeit squad, home of former road world champion Marianne Vos.

Twenty-year-old Trott enjoyed a solid 2010 season, winning the under-23 British time trial title, placing fifth in the Czech Tour and sixth in the British road race national championships (senior).

All this despite suffering from multiple injuries including a fractured collarbone as the result of being hit by a car when out training in Belgium in May. Four other GB women were also injured in the incident.

"It's an unbelievable feeling," said Trott. "There have been times when I've wondered if it was ever going to happen for me but to be able to ride alongside Marianne and all the other girls is an incredible feeling. Just goes to show, keep going whatever happens!"

Trott will aid team leader Vos in the women's spring classics.

"I have been impressed by Emma all season," said Nederland Bloeit director sportive Jeroen Blijlevens.

"You do not get to beat riders like Vos, [Judith] Arndt and [Emma] Pooley in time trials without a big engine. Also, as a racer she is consistent and has been in a lot of very good breaks in some very good races this year, we think she is a fantastic addition to the team."

Trott is the latest British woman to make the move to an international squad and race at the highest level. Emma Pooley, Lizzie Armitstead and Sharon Laws have all scored major results this season.

Last week it was announced that Olympic champion Nicole Cooke will spearhead the new MCipollini-Giordana team based in Italy.

Trott has British junior titles on the road (2006), track (omnium- 2005) and time trial (national 25-mile - 2005). He sister Laura is also a talented rider and is part of British Cycling's 2010-11 Olympic Academy programme.
