Kent Velo Girls' women-only sportive

Cyclo-sportive news logo

Entries are still available for Kent Velo Girls' inaugural cyclo-sportive on Sunday April 17. The sportive is being billed as a 'women only' event, although to avoid accusations of sexism (probably) men are allowed to ride if they either wear pink or donate £100 to the event's nominated charity - Breast Cancer Care.

Three distances are on offer in the Kent and Sussex countryside - 20, 40 or 60 miles. There is also a Go Ride event organised for those under-12 to join in. Refreshements and technical support will be on offer during the ride. Entry costs £25 for all three distances.

Nigel Wynn
Former Associate Editor

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, an exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
