Xavier Tondo
Spanish professional rider Xavier Tondo has been killed in a domestic accident in Granada, Spanish media report on Monday morning.
Tondo, 32, was apparently leaving his house for a training ride with Movistar team-mate Beñat Intxausti when he was crushed between his car and garage door.
Tondo's professional cycling career started in 2003. He won Vuelta a Castilla y Leon in April this year, and won stage six of last year's Paris-Nice whilst on the Cervelo Test Team squad.
He won the Tour of Portugal in 2007, and a stage of Volta a Catalunya in 2010. He finished sixth in the Vuelta a Espana last year.
Tondo had been in the news earlier this year as he had tipped off police about a Spanish doping ring in Girona after he had received an email offering him banned performance-enhancing substances.

Totally unbelievable. They say most accidents happen at home, but I've never hear of this before. Poor guy, seemed like a well liked guy too.
