This was history in the making. Well done to all, medal winners, or not, and of course a special "bravo" to Cav. The whole of Team GB have done us proud, not only Great Britain, but cycling as a sport and I only hope that at last, the British public and the media start to appreciate what fabulous athletes they all are and stop the stupid adulation of prima donna soccer players. BBC, Sky Sports et al, take note. (Sky in particular take note especially seeing its your name that adorns the GB kit!!!!!!!).

So gutted for Lizzie Armitstead.. You can never predict a bunch sprint, but I think it's highly likely she would have good a pretty shiny medal if she hadn't had to slow down behind a crash in the final stretch.

Some things which stand out to me, looking at that table: - 1/5 of medals won by Great Britain - Medalled in 6 of the 10 events - Every age group/gender medalled, apart from junior men Impressive.
