Mark Cavendish and Peta Todd, London-Surrey Cycle Classic 2011
Mark Cavendish and partner Peta Todd both announced on Twitter today that they were to become parents.
"I'm happy to announce, beyond doubt, my proudest moment of this year..... @petatodd is pregnant. I'm going to be a daddy" Cavendish posted on his feed.
Todd said "Can now confirm that whether or not the world is ready for it... there is a baby @MarkCavendish on the way. A very happy family this end."
In a piece on the Sun's website, Todd admitted that the baby was conceived during the Tour de France. The 24-year-old has been a Page 3 girl with the paper since the age of 18, but said that she would be retiring from this and instead write a column for the paper.

Mount ventoux, alp du huez, holme moss. They are sissy's when it comes to the mountain you have climb when you have children. Congratulation's to Mark and Peta.I hope you enjoy being parents.

How many stages could he have won if he hadn't been busy making babies at night.
