Cavendish, Wiggins, Sky and Team GB train in Mallorca: Photo special

Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins joined their Team Sky and Great Britain team-mates at a pre-season training camp on the Spanish island of Mallorca last week.

Both the Sky and Team GB outfits have spent several weeks putting in the miles on the roads around Mallorca and in the velodrome in Palma.

The Sky and Great Britain squads share many of the same staff and resources, so the combined camp makes perfect sense. The training camp gives the team a chance to get to know each other, fine-tune their performances and make sure that their equipment is up to scratch.

Cavendish and Wiggins stand out from the rest of their team thanks to their respective World and British champions jerseys.

Cavendish has his sights set on defending his green jersey at this year's Tour de France, and then on victory in the road race at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Wiggins is aiming for the overall classification at the Tour de France and then the individual time trial event in London.

Cavendish will make his racing debut for Sky at the Tour of Qatar from February 5-10, with Wiggins kicking his season off at the Tour of the Algarve from February 15-19.

Wiggins and Cavendish will not race together until the Tour de France on June 30-July 22.

Cycling Weekly interviewed Bradley Wiggins for this week's issue of the magazine, on sale from Thursday (January 26 2012).

Wonderful place to ride. Doesn't look too warm though

Good thing they were not training in the UK, they would get abused and threatened by drivers. The wheels would collapse from the sh*t road, and they would probably die from getting hit by a lorry...no wonder they go abroad...

The funny thing J is that I never get any abuse of drivers when I am riding to and from work. But then again, I wear a hi-vis bomber jacket that makes me look twice as big than I actually am.

Still pinching myself. A British team with a British world champion and a couple of British TDF contenders, Since when did we get good at cycle racing?
