Tiernan-Locke loses Tour of the Med lead to Hutarovich

Tour Méditerranéen 2012

Endura Racing's Jon Tiernan-Locke lost the race leader's yellow jersey at the Tour Méditerranéen after stage two this afternoon.

Garmin-Barracuda's Michel Kreder turned a lead-out for his brother Raymond into a solo attack which gave him the victory at the end of a bitterly cold stage to Martigues, while Belarusian Yauheni Hutarovich (FDJ-Big Mat) will wear the maillot jaune during the penultimate day of racing tomorrow.

Hutarovich started the day just four seconds off the race lead, and his third-place finish meant he gained enough in time bonuses to displace Tiernan-Locke at the top of the standings.

However, the GC still looks healthy for the British rider, especially as Sunday's final stage on Mont Faron suits him more than it does Hutarovich.
