With the race's second rest day coming up tomorrow, the overall contenders can really afford to empty the tank on the day's final climb.
Just like the previous day's stage, the riders have a period of relative flat terrain to gather momentum before striking out on the slopes of the first category Valico di Valcava mid-stage.
From then on in, it's a saw-tooth delight for the climbers, culminating in the final ascent to Pian dei Resinelli and an overdue day's rest for one and all.
