It's hard to imagine that the favourites will be keen to roll their arm-warmers down and get stuck in, so this stage has ‘long break' written all over it. Which means it could be hectic early on until a break finally gets on with winning a leg-bending stage.
The Cols of Grand Cucheron and Granier are early and imposing, but the roads of the finale in the Ardèche are grippy and hot. At 220km, this won't be an easy stage for anyone and the winner will earn their place on the podium. Expect the favourites to chat among themselves.
