Bradley Wiggins, London 2012 Olympic Games, time trials
Bradley Wiggins admits he is humbled to be considered alongside Sir Chris Hoy and Sir Steve Redgrave as one of Britain's greatest ever Olympians.
But the Tour de France champion insists he shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath.
Wiggins capped a remarkable six weeks with victory in the London 2012 time trial, his fourth gold medal to go with one silver and two bronze spread across four Games.
The 32-year-old is now Britain's most successful Olympian in terms of medals won, not that he sees it that way.
He said: "I have a lot of appreciation for what people achieve in sport and I have a lot of heroes who I idolise.
"So to be mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Steve Redgrave and Sir Chris is something unbelievable.
"It is a matter for debate and everyone will have an opinion, but ultimately it is about gold medals and I don't think I am the greatest.
"One thing for sure is I won't change. I will be the same normal guy I always have been."
