Victor Cabedo
Spanish professional Victor Cabedo has died after being hit by a vehicle whilst on a training ride on Wednesday in Onda, Spain, near his home.
Twenty-three-year-old Cabedo was part of Euskaltel-Euskadi's squad alongside Samuel Sanchez and Pablo Urtasun at the 2012 Tour of Britain, which finished in Guildford on Sunday.
Cabedo took part in this year's Giro d'Italia. He won the Memorial Valenciaga in 2010 and a stage of last year's Vuelta a Asturias.

Another sad cycling fatality due to an irresponsible person in their protective metal bubble no doubt ?? i have near misses on a weekly basis and often wonder when vehicles pass " did they even see me then ?? " it wont stop me doing the thing i love but something seriously needs to be done to stamp this negligence out !! Harsher punishments for a start ! i am sorry but " i didnt see them ?" is just not good enough , if they were driving slower or concentrating more they would have ..... i dont recall ever passing a cyclist in camouflage clothing blending in with background ? or maybe i have ???.........i just didnt see them.

At the finish area of stage 1 to Norwich in the Tour of Britain, as Victor arrived to the team bus, he saw my 3 years old son waiting for the cyclist and gave him his botle. Victor proved to be a really nice guy without saying a word. Since then that orange botle has become my son's proud treasure. Obviusly I'm not going to try to explain to him the sad news coz he wouldn't understand but as he was using the botle this morning I asked him "Do you remember who gave you this bottle?" He replyed "The nice orange cyclist dad". Heartbreaking. Descanse en paz pero sobre la bici, Victor Cabedo.

No matter what type of 2 wheels you are on either bicycle or motorcycles ... many car drivers do not care to look ... if they dont see 4 wheels its all clear to them ... how many deaths does it take to make them understand they dont own the road RIP Victor ... You will be missed
