Etape Mercia closed roads sportive confirmed
The Marie Curie Etape Mercia is a new cyclo-sportive to be run on closed roads in West Cheshire on Sunday August 18 2013, organised by the same group that run the Etape Caledonia and Etape Pennines events.
The route takes in 69 miles (111km) of roads in West Cheshire, starting and finishing in the Oulton Park Race Circuit, Little Budworth.
Riders will encounter a total ascent of 952 metres (3,123 feet) and pass Beeston Castle, Little Switzerland, Delamere Forest and the Cheshire Ridge.
Feed stops are available on the route and all riders will be electronically timed.
Online entry opens on January 29, but riders can register their interest in the event on the Etape Mercia website. Organiser IMG is expecting around 3,000 riders to sign up. Entry costs £63.

£63? they must be joking can ride three season's worth of the Wobbly Wheelers evening '10' for that Not exactly the most scenic of areas either though the high point does offer wonderful views of Runcorn chemical workss
