Glasgow to host 2013 British road and time trial national championships
Glasgow will host the 2013 British road race and time trial national championships, held from June 20 to 23.
It will be the first time that both the road races and time trials will be run as part of the same event after British Cycling took on the running of the TT championship from Cycling Time Trials after last year's event.
The road race will take place on part of the proposed course for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, also hosted by Glasgow.
"In recent years we've seen our national road championships won by riders who between them have won numerous Olympic and World Championship medals, as well as the Tour de France," said British Cycling's Cycle Sport and Membership Director Jonny Clay.
"The stature of the event and the calibre of the riders who contest it have been reflected in the competition to host the race for 2013."
The elite men's and women's elite time trial events will take place on Thursday June 20, with the elite men's and women's road races both being run on Sunday, June 23.
Glasgow's Sir Chris Hoy velodrome hosted a round of the UCI Track World Cup last year - the first international-level event to be hosted by the Commonwealth Games venue.
