Svein Tuft wins San Luis time trial

Svein Tuft, Tour de San Luis 2013, stage four ITT

Orica-GreenEdge may currently be fighting for top honours in the Tour Down Under, its 'home' race in Australia, but it was Canadian Svein Tuft who scored the team's first 2013 international win in Argentina, blasting to win the Tour de San Luis time trial.

Tuft cruised around the 19.2-kilometre individual test against the clock in a time of 22 minutes and 14 seconds, seven seconds ahead of second-placed Argentinian Leandro Messineo (San Luis Somos Todos) and 11 seconds in front of Pole Michal Kwiatkowski (Omega Pharma-QuickStep).

Nigel Wynn
Former Associate Editor

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, an exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
