RideLondon bike thief caught on camera
The Ride London Freecycle wasn't a glorious event for everybody - one unfortunate participant had his gleaming Trek Madone 4.9 stolen from Green Park before he even had a chance to start riding.
However, as luck would have it, the sneaky thief was later caught aboard the bike - with event numbers still attached - by one of Ride London's official event photographers. We've put the picture up here of it being ridden away.
The bike had been securely locked at Green Park, near Constitution Hill, with the lock being cut to steal it. It was taken at around 1pm on Saturday August 3.
If you have any information about the stolen bike, or the character aboard it in this photo, please contact PC Charlotte Brierley who is leading the investigation for the Cycle Task Force on 07768 928456, or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
