Francois Pervis sets new kilo world record

Frenchman Francois Pervis smashed the world record for the kilometre time trial at the second round of the 2013/14 UCI Track World Cup in Aguascalientes, Mexico, on Saturday.

Pervis clocked 56.303 seconds to cover 1000 metres on the high altitude track that has seen world records tumble. Pervis's time was significantly quicker than the previous record of 58.875 seconds set by fellow Frenchman Arnaud Tournant in La Paz, Bolivia, in 2001.
