ITALIAN AZZURRI KIT UNVEILED

Following on from adidas’ launch of Team GB’s cycling kit for the Beijing Olympics, the Italian squad’s clothing sponsor - Sportful - has now released details of the Italian national team kit that you’ll be able to buy.

With Paolo Bettini targeting a second Olympic title, the Italians will certainly be looking to make an impression on the men's road race course.

The Azzurri, will be sporting this new kit which intriguingly confines the classic Italian blue, which gives the squadra its name, to the lettering only. As you can see from the images the people at Sportful have used an oriental-style font to add a local theme and to ‘honour the host country’.

On a technical side of things, breathability and aerodynamics have been targeted for the jersey fabrics whilst the shorts utilise a variable thickness pad with an open cell structure to help keep the riders cool. All importantly, Sportful has used a ‘shield’ Lycra that won’t become transparent should the racers encounter a sudden downpour.
