READE WINS WORLD TITLE TO CLINCH BMX OLYMPIC PLACE
Britain's Shanaze Reade defended her world BMX championship title in Tiayuan, China, to qualify for this summer's Olympic Games.
Reade was always in control in the final, beating French rider Anne Caroline Chausson.
It means Reade will take her place in the British team for the Olympics in Beijing in August.
Reade, who won a gold in the team sprint with Victoria Pendleton at World Track Championships in Manchester in March, is not likely to be competing on the track in Beijing. Instead she will focus on the BMX title.
