Star-studded line-up for Revolution track meet

The opening round of the 2011/12 Revolution track series promises an all-star cast of professional cyclists, including Geraint Thomas, Alex Dowsett, Dean and Russell Downing, Ed Clancy, Ben Swift, Peter Kennaugh and Andy Tennant.

On Saturday, October 29, the riders will pit themselves against each other in the revised Revolution Championship format, which now only includes endurance events at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester.

Thomas, Dowsett, Russell Downing, Kennaugh and Swift will appear as Team Sky, coming up against the Rapha Condor Sharp squad including Clancy, Dean Downing and Tennant.

UK Youth join the action this season, with new signing Steven Burke joining Magnus Backstedt on the boards hoping to overthrow defending 2010/11 champions Maxgear in the team competition.

David Daniell heads up another strong list of riders in the sprint disciplines, which later in the year promise to include Sir Chris Hoy, Jason Kenny, Ross Edgar and Matt Crampton as they prepare for next year's Olympic Games in London.

More information and tickets can be purchased from the official Revolution website.
