For Record in 2011, there will be some weight reduction across the board to make up a total of 75g saved but as ever with Campagnolo it’s all about the overall performance and, ultimately, durability. They’ve promised much with the ‘Revolution 11’ improvements to shifting especially at the front so we’re looking forward to trying it.
At just under 2,000 grams, the new Record groupset saves overall around 75g on its 2009 predecessor. This is mostly due to redesigned hollow unidirectional-carbon-fibre cranks and and a fettled bottom bracket but there are further 10-gram savings here and there.
As usual, Record and Super Record will continue to share the same existing chain but with the Super set’s cassette sporting the six larger sprockets in titanium whereas Record does with three. Ratios available are the now-standard 11-23, 11-25, 12-25, 12-27 and 12-29.
