Using LEDs, circuitry and the latest battery technology culled from its range of high powered front lights, the District 3 is a dazzlingly bright new rear light from Hope.
No flimsy plastic, this has all the usual Hope hallmarks – industrial, CNC’d alloy construction, with a bracket engineered to survive nuclear attack, so there’s no chance your light will bounce off.
Fitting may be fiddly as it uses a tiny, rechargeable battery pack, plus it’s bulkier than the regular LED lights we’ve become accustomed to, but the trade-off is with the District 3, you’ll be seen a mile off.
The idea behind its immense brightness is that it can be used for extra visibility during the day too, hence there are two power settings, plus flashing modes. A spherical mount enables angling, so as not to blind motorists, and the light unit can be easily removed from the bracket.
Impressive – possibly bordering on overkill. Price from £95.
