Shimano has today launched its new range-topping road shoe, the SH-R321, replacing the successful SH-R230
The new performance road race shoe, which hits the market in spring 2015, is said to satisfy the pickiest of riders in the pro peloton with a full redesign of the previous model.
The R321 is said to have a more smooth and aerodynamic styling, although Shimano isn’t actually claiming the shoes to be anymore ‘aerodynamic’. The new ‘Surround’ upper also promises to provide a ‘glove like fit’.
The design of the shoes inner is more ‘wrap like’, aided by adjustable instep heights and shapes on the double pivot, rotational buckle mounts. Whilst, like most modern shoes, allows you to heat mold the arch and upper step sections for a more custom fit.
As well as the comfort factor, Shimano say that the SH-R321, with the help of their Dynalast shape, offers 12/12 stiffness rating, along with an extra 11mm of cleat adjustment.
Confirmed pricing see’s the R321’s retail at £299.99.
