Boardman Road Sport
Boardman Bikes has introduced a new set of models that will appear in shops mid-December, comprising an entry-level road bike and two hybrids all priced under £500.
All three of the new bikes come under Boardman's 'performance series'. The Road Sport bike is priced £499 and comes in as the new base model of the road range, below the existing Race model.
The bike features a triple-butted aluminium frame, alloy forks, Shimano 2300 groupset, Tektro brakes, and Mavic CXP22 rims on Formula hub. It is finished in red.
The two hybrid bikes are very different. The Hybrid Race is priced £429 and features aluminium frame and forks, and Shimano Acrea groupset.
The £499 MX Race is a hybrid of a hybrid, and perhaps could best be described as a mountain bike with road wheels. Although it has 700c wheels, the geometry and spec is more akin to a 29-inch mountain bike and has Suntour NEX suspension forks, SRAM X5 groupset and Avid mechanical disc brakes. All in all, it's a pretty intriguing model.

For the price these bikes look great! Liking the MX Race the best. I must remember to check them out more closely the next time I see one in the flesh.

Having ridden a Boardman Comp Hybrid for five years I can not recommend the brand highly enough. Excellent quality and workmanship.

Ooooooh... shiny! Is that a 52 ring on the road bike? There'll be some MAMILS in PAIN! A triple on the hybrid would have been good, but these three certainly look the part.

Got two boardman bikes mtb and road bike team carbon loving the road bike ...... Nice one chris
