Yorkshire were the big winners in the Inter Area Team Championships in Middlesbrough on Sunday, winning three of the four main categories at Prissick Base.
Host region North East saw Adam Martin cross the line first in the senior race, and they placed four riders inside the top ten. But with their fourth counter being part of their B team, they were pipped by Yorkshire with Nick Barnes, Dieter Droger, Rob Partridge and Jack Clarkson making up their winning quartet.
In the veterans race Yorkshire's win was more clear cut, with four riders in the top five, including winner Ian Taylor.
Similarly in the women's race, Rebecca Womersley led Yorkshire to victory with the top four placings.
Only in the youth category were Yorkshire beaten, with the East Midlands taking the team win thanks to Josh Waters, Tim James, Kieran Howarth and Oliver Peckover.
Conditions were frosty for the early races, and the course was moved off an icy section of tarmac onto some grass to avoid accidents. The frost had melted by the time the veterans started, but grit on the tarmac caused several punctures.
Elsewhere, Rapha Condor professional Graham Briggs won the Boston Wheelers cyclo-cross event in Woodhall Spa for a third consecutive year on Sunday.
The 30-year-old from Doncaster crossed the line 22 seconds clear of George Thompson (Sleaford Wheelers) who leads the Lincolnshire League with three maximum points hauls from the five rounds so far.
Second in the league, Mark Cotton (Ellmore Factory Racing) placed third, another 20 seconds behind 19-year-old Thompson.
Over the other side of the country, Marsh Tracks junior rider Dylan Kerfoot-Robson took his first senior win in the North West League, crossing the line 35 seconds clear of League leader Giles Drake (Herbalife) in the Geoff Bewley Memorial event at Otterspool Park in Liverpool.
Kerfoot-Robson, 17, is a strong MTB rider and as well as several good finishes in the National XC Series, he also rode in round six of the World Cup in Norway in September.
North of the border, Davie Lines (MG Maxifuel) secured a second consecutive victory in the Scottish Series when he held off Colin May (VC Edinburgh) to win the East Kilbride RC event at Strathclyde Country Park in Motherwell.
Lines, 35, attacked on a steep climb before the finish line and crossed the line around 20 seconds clear, while May held off Sean Clark (Velo Sportive) for second.
Veteran Tim Carpenter (3 Sixty Performance) won won the seventh round of the South West League in Truro on Sunday.
Matt Holland (Velo Centre) had been leading, but a last lap mechanical caused him to drop back to an eventual third place, while 45-year-old Carpenter came through to win from Matt Loake (Southfork Racing).
Adrian Lansley (Pedal On) secured a narrow one-second victory over Michael Cotty (Wheelbase-Canondale) in the tenth round of the Wessex League in Oxford on Sunday. Team Jewson's Darren Atkins was third.
And in road racing, Pedal Heaven-Colbornes rider Lewis Atkins maintained his great form with a third consecutive victory in the Inverser RT Winter Points Grabber Series at Hillingdon on Saturday.
The 27-year-old from West Drayton once again held off Beeline Bicycles rider Jozef Metalka for the win, which was his 20th of the season.
