Quick-Step will return as title sponsor of the Belgian team after four years as a co-sponsor

Etixx – Quick-Step will experience a name change for the 2017 season onwards, becoming Quick-Step Floors.

The Belgian team will return to having Quick-Step Floors as their sole title sponsor, having done so already from 2008-2011 when Omega Pharma took up co-title privileges. They then switched to the lead sponsor of Etixx from the start of the 2015 season.

Quick-Step have been sponsors in the pro peloton since 1998, and began sponsoring this team in 2003, taking lead sponsorship through the various incarnations of the team up to 2008.

Etixx, who remain an official partner of the team, will not feature on the kit next season.

“We are delighted that Quick-Step decided to take advantage of this opportunity and become the title sponsor of the team in the 2017 season. We have achieved many goals together and we are eager to keep doing so in 2017,” said team CEO Patrick Lefevere on the move. “I want to stress that the budget and the structure of the squad will remain unaltered in 2017.”

Quick-Step have been one of the peloton’s most successful teams over the past decade or so, with their riders taking 56 professional victories this year alone.

The team are far from the only WorldTour squad changing name for 2017, with Giant-Alpecin becoming Team Sunweb and Lampre-Merida set for a rebranding after being bought by Chinese company TJ Sport.
