Phinney the outsider for tomorrow's Olympic time trial

Taylor Phinney and bags, London 2012 Olympic time trial training, 31 July 2012

If you're looking for an outsider to put your money on for tomorrow's time trial, look no further than Taylor Phinney. The 22-year-old American was fourth in Saturday's road race but has in fact been preparing for the time trial since the end of the Giro d'Italia in May.

"I know my form is good and I have really been working specifically for this," he said. "I know that if I have a really good ride I can be up there, and I am hungry from the road race. That's extra motivation."
