Team Sky announce full team for RideLondon-Surrey Classic
Three Tour de France riders will race for Team Sky at the RideLondon-Surrey Classic on Sunday as well as the man who finished third last year
Chris Froome will be joined by two of his Tour de France winning teammates at the RideLondon-Surrey Classic on Sunday, with Geraint Thomas and Ian Stannard both lining up.
It is Froome's first race on British soil since the Tour's Grand Départ in Yorkshire back in 2014 and only his second appearance since the 2012 Olympic Games.
That Olympic experience, and the fact he rode RideLondon back in 2011, means Froome will have a fair idea of what the course will throw at him as he builds up to the Olympic Games in August.
Christian Knees also lines up, with sprinters Danny van Poppel and Ben Swift, who has finished on the podium in each of the last two editions of the race.
RideLondon will be Froome's second one-day race of the year, after Liege-Bastogne-Liege, and only his 10th since the Olympics road race four years ago.
