Tom Dumoulin on stage 9 of the 2016 Tour de France
Double stage winner Tom Dumoulin was forced to abandon the Tour de France on stage 19 after fracturing his arm in a crash, putting his Olympic hopes in serious doubt.
Giant-Alpecin tweeted that initial x-rays showed a fracture in Dumoulin's left radius, an injury that can take 40 days to recover from. The time trial that Dumoulin had his eye on is in just 19 days.
