Luke Rowe's year-long journey to the Tour de France

The 25-year-old Welshman will make his Tour debut on Saturday after "knuckling down" for 2015

It was during the middle months of 2014, around the time that Chris Froome’s chances of back-to-back Tour de France victories were disappearing, that Luke Rowe’s pathway to this year’s race began.

“Halfway through last season, I really knuckled down,” he told Cycling Weekly. “Seeing the Tour in the UK last year, and seeing how successful the team’s been in the race, I wanted to be a part of that.”
