Team Sky announce Tour of Britain line-up
British WorldTour squad Sky reveals their six-rider line-up for the 2016 Tour of Britain (September 4-11)
Dutchman Wout Poels will lead Team Sky's assault on the 2016 Tour of Britain, which starts in Glasgow on Sunday, September 4, and concludes in London on Sunday, September 11.
Poels finished the 2015 race as overall runner-up behind winner Edvald Boasson Hagen (Dimension Data) having won the key stage to Hartside Fell in Cumbria.
Joining Poels on Sky's six-man roster is Italian sprinter Elia Viviani, fresh from his gold-medal-winning performance in the omnium at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Viviani secured three stage wins in the 2015 edition of the race, including the final stage in London.

Irishman Nicolas Roche and Dutch sprinter Danny Van Poppel complete the strong line-up.
Team Sky are one of 10 WorldTour level teams taking part in the 2016 edition of the Tour of Britain.

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, an exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
