Trek-Segafredo looking 'to see what's possible' with Alberto Contador

The American team is eyeing a Grand Tour star for 2017, and Alberto Contador could be the big name that fits the bill

Trek-Segafredo is looking to secure a Grand Tour star for 2017 and after attempts with others such a Vincenzo Nibali, the team “wants to see what’s possible with” Spaniard Alberto Contador.

The American WorldTour team will meet with Contador's agent, his brother Francisco, soon to determine if an agreement can be made. Contador races for team Tinkoff, which is due to close its doors at year end after owner Oleg Tinkov pulled his sponsorship money.
