Rigoberto Uran career profile
While Uran’s palmares remains a little thin on the ground in terms of wins, there is no doubting the Colombian’s talent. Second at the 2013 Giro d’Italia to an unstoppable Vincenzo Nibali, Uran proved that he could challenge for grand tours no matter the terrain or the climate.

After a few quiet years with the Spanish Caisse d’Epargne team, Uran shot to prominence when he joined Team Sky as one of Bradley Wiggins’s key mountain domestiques. However, the two forged different paths as Uran rode for himself, often in Italy, rather than in Sky’s Tour de France squad.

Uran will now lead Omega Pharma-QuickStep in grand tours along with sprinter Mark Cavendish.
