Dutch brand Sensa has only had sporadic availablity in the UK in years past, but now Lancashire’s Merlin Cycles have taken on the manufacturer’s range of road, cyclo-cross and track bikes.
Rather than purely offering ready-specced bikes, Sensa offers the option of choosing a range of components at the time of ordering, including groupset, wheels, bars, saddle, stem, seatpost and tyres. Turnaround time for custom specs is two weeks, which seems pretty reasonable.
Standard specification bikes are available too – and Merlin keep a stock of these for immediate despatch.
One model that seems particularly noteworthy is the Giulia Di2 road bike. As the name suggests, models are available Shimano’s electric Di2 groupset, but is also available with a range of other builds starting with mechanical Shimano 105 for under £1500. This gives the buyer the option of upgrading to Di2 in the future without the initial outlay.
Merlin will have stock of 2013 models of Sensa bikes from mid-August onwards.
