British rider Jonathan Tiernan-Locke has taken the early lead in the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) 2012 EuropeTour ranking after winning the Tour of the Mediterranean and Tour du Haut Var.
In addition to winning the overall titles, Tiernan-Locke won two stages in the Tour of the Mediterranean and one in the Tour du Haut Var.

Tiernan-Locke has tallied up 222 points in the season-long EuropeTour, and sits well ahead of second-placed Jerome Coppel (Saur-Sojasun) with 139 points and third-placed Rein Taaramae (Cofidis) with 105 points.
The Scottish-based Endura team are sat in second place in the EuropeTour ranking-by-team behind Saur Sojasun.
British riders have taken an unprecedented 11 victories during February, with Tiernan-Locke’s five wins accounting for just under half. Mark Cavendish, Bradley Wiggins and Andy Fenn have all won races.
