Peter Alexander (City of Inverness CC) scored a double victory in the Caithness CC cycling weekend in Scotland, with wins in both Saturday's 25-mile time trial at Thurso as well as Sunday's hilly 23-mile event at Loch Calder.
Alexander clocked 56-50 to win the 25-mile event by more than a minute from Paul Rodden (Moray Firth CC), while the following day, he clocked 52-23 for the hilly event, winning by 59 seconds from Square Wheels rival Gregor Grant, while Rodden settled for third, another 1-18 off the pace.
South of the border, it was another fast day with a series of fast times across the country.
Stu Dodd (Drag2Zero.com) won the Bath CC event at Ashton Keynes in Wiltshire with a time of 19-28, ten seconds faster than veteran Rob Pears (Bath CC), while third-placed Chris Ball (Biobike RT) and Mark Jones (Oxford City RC) also went under the 20-minute mark with 19-53 and 19-57 respectively.
And Michael Hutchinson clocked an impressive 48-15 in the Ogmore Valley Wheelers 25 near Hirwaun, winning by 1-22 from Mark Holton (Drag2Zero.com).
Steve Golla (La Fuga-Sigma Sport) clocked 55-21 to win the West London CA 25-mile event by 22 seconds from London Dynamo's Martin Williamson at Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire.
And in Cornwall, the promoting club's Alessandro Gourley won Penzance Wheelers' sporting 19-mile event at Leedstown, covering the distance in 47-12 to win by 17 seconds from Mark Hooper (One and All), while Penzance's Paul Friday was third, just three seconds further back.
