Pyrenean climbs are shorter, steeper, bumpier and narrower than the Alps - some riders go better here, especially if they are Spanish.
The roads of the region can be heavy and, in humid conditions, even a simple day like today can upset plans and the form book.
As an introduction to the Pyrenees, this is as gentle as it gets, two days before the big sort-out. With over 100km till the first climb, and 40km from the summit of the Mur de Péguère to the finish, a small break of no-danger-overall half-decent climber types is on the cards.
