Tour de France bike: Marcel Kittel's Felt F1 FRD
Marcel Kittel's Felt F1 FRD, Tour de France 2013
Tour de France stage one winner Marcel Kittel did so on board Felt's new F1 FRD. If the carbon weave pattern on the frameset looks familiar, that's because Felt have collaborated with TeXtreme - the same guys who have produced the new Pro rear disc that we saw used in the Team Time Trial.
Whilst the frame is something special the rest of the bike is pretty standard stuff with the sort of equipment you can by in your local shop and having Shimano as co-sponsor means they also get the full Pro catalogue to choose from.
Shimano 9000 Di2 covers the bike with the latest SRM specific cranks that come from Shimano ready to bolt on the German powermeter.
Ever popular with the peloton sprinters, Kittel is running the carbon Vibe Sprint stem, but this time pairing with the carbon monocoque Vibe bars with very cleanly installed sprint buttons.
While sprinting is all about big numbers, the German clearly doesn't want to see all the digits choosing to tape over the middle section of his colour coordinated SRM mount.
