The second model in Michelins new Pro4 range is the Endurance. As the name suggests it’s a more durable, heavier set version of our favourite tyre with wet weather grip slightly compromised in favour of longevity and puncture resistance.

Given how well the Service Course performs in the wet we were worried Michelin might have undermined the tyre’s strongest aspect but the first few rides have proved it’s still better than most. It’s early days for mileage and puncture-resistance but thus far they are both right up there.

Sure, they are a little heavier and you get the feeling rolling resistance isn’t class-leading but if it’s as robust as Michelin promise, then it might be just the ticket for winter miles.
