The RX480 is a budget light by today’s standards, but don’t be fooled.

The 480 refers to its claimed 480 lumens, and it has a claimed max power burn time of six hours from the built-in USB-rechargeable li-ion battery. There are three different power settings plus one flashing mode. Lumens aren’t the most useful of measures, as different manufacturers calculate them in different ways, so let’s just say this baby is bright.

In town it’s almost overkill, while it’ll keep you out of trouble in the darkest lanes. It does, however, feel like a budget light – all plastic. We’ve not had a chance to use it in a proper downpour yet to establish exactly how waterproof it is but we’re quietly confident.
