Giro d’Italia 2012: Stage 21

When: Sunday, May 27

To: Milan

Length: 30.1km

Category: Flat, individual time trial

Any time trial specialists left in the race will relish the chance to shine in the 2012 Giro d’Italia’s final stage in Milan.

The pan-flat course has enough twists, turns and street furniture to catch out the unwary, it’s by no means a dragstrip.

The overall contenders will be well and truly bruised and battered after a hard week in the mountains, but every single one will be mindful that the race can be won or lost on the final day.

The results from the time trial will either confirm the position of the overall leader, or provide a rare last-day upset.
