Giro d’Italia 2012: Stage 4

When: Wednesday, May 9

Verona, Italy

To: Verona, Italy

Length: 32.2km

Category: Team time trial

The riders hit Italy for the first time during the 2012 race, having spent three days racing in Denmark and one day travelling.

And it’s no ordinary day back in the office. The 22 teams will pit themselves against each other in a team time trial.

Large chunks of time can be gained or lost, and it’s a day where the overall contenders teams will be looking to get one over their rivals. They’ll be up against teams who have specifically targetted the TTT such as Sky, BMC Racing and Orica-GreenEdge.

All in all, it’s going to be a hotly-contested stage and one that will undoubtedly see a huge shift around in the overall classification.
