    great info

There are plenty of free places to watch the road race – many better than the officially ticketed places. Therers the ZICO Box Hill Festival of Cycling (inside the loop) and the Surrey Hills Road Race festival @ Denbies, for example… Keep cycling free!

Cycling Weekly lists the Olympic Road events and indicates ticket prices for access, seats or positions on the Mall. However the dreaded TIcketmaster state on their website that there are no such sessions?

On the reasonable assumption that there will actually be Olympic Road events, any advice or comments please?

    Here’s hoping.

Re possible clash with the TDF and Olympic road race, the Tour is starting a week early next year on June 30 (When was the last June start I wonder?) so will finish one week before Olympics. Still not ideal but those who really want it can ride in both

guess mens road race will also be same day as last weekend of tour de France? Hows that going to work for the Italians and team Sky and also Cav and the UK leadout he’ll need to get near gold. If he doesnt get the green jersey this year it could be a long wait. Stick to the Tour boys, Olympics is only a bit of fun like the tennis no one can remember who won, but win a tour jersey youre a great.

Don’t want to sound like a spoil sport because it is really exciting but does anybody else think £150 best seat price might be a but much to watch 1.5 hours of Men’s Onium flying lap and Mens sprint qualifying. Ballerup was nearly empty for qualifying at last year’s World Championships and it only cost me about £30-£40 for the entire week so even the cheapest price at £20 might not attract many true cycling fans!
It’s not just the price. Going to watch this will be like be given a large portion of your favourite meal and only being allowed a sniff before being dragged away from the table!
I will be heading to Surrey for the Road Race and then rely on lady luck to get me in for a cheap seat for the evening track finals.
