Bradley Wiggins wearing the Tour de France yellow jersey gives certain privileges: the best seat on the team bus, the entire team riding for you, and the obligatory customised bike.

We caught up with Wiggo’s Pinarello Dogma 2 maillot jaune bike at the finish of stage 17.

With the blue decals swapped out for yellow and an elegant flash around the headtube it’s the yellow Pro bar tape and Fizik Arione saddle which really sets it out from the more subtle black of the rest of team Sky.

Whilst it looks like the last word in cool to our eyes, word from the team truck is that a ‘full on’ yellow paint job is currently in the spray booth ready for the final Parisian stage. Could that also be the first outing for the eleven-tooth version of Shimano’s Dura-Ace Di2?
