This style of lock is a popular alternative to the standard D lock thanks to the flexibility it offers when locking your bike; a handy feature when a uniform bike rack isn't available (think lamppost).
Unlike the other bike locks we have tested recently, this was the only one without an independent security rating, the K-Traz (inspired by San Francisco’s most rocky island prison) is, for what it’s worth, rated four out of five by Zéfal.
The finish is of good quality with thick vinyl cable-sleeve and a meaty, double-locking barrel. At 1,200mm, it’s long enough to accommodate an awkward bike and a lamppost.
The Zéfal K-Traz A25 bike lock is also fairly flexible and should fit comfortably into any rucksack. It’s reasonably heavy, though, at 1.75kg, which although reassuring on the security front, will mean you need to press a that little bit harder on the pedals when carrying it.
