As well as the currently in-vogue fluoro accents, this sharp-looking shoe features the ‘Atop’ closure system that works in a similar way to the better-known Boa design.
Unlike the Lake and Vittoria shoes, DMT has chosen to use it solely for the main ankle restraint to offer a more precise range of adjustment than the usual ratchet.
Comfortable, well vented and, while narrowly beaten on weight by both Shimano and Giro, these felt more racy and notably stiffer. They boast the best heel cup on test too, with a perfect compromise between comfort and security.
Even when I was pushing hard out of the saddle, the DMTs didn't slip or rub. While these may be a little bold for the bashful, they are also available in less gaudy black and white.
