If you're after a shoe that's as subtle as it is supple, the Elite III has both boxes ticked.
The soft, one-piece leather upper with its classy matte finish provides a wide-ish fit and is comfortable from the off without any break-in period required. The wide range of adjustment, quality ratchet and strong Velcro straps ensure a snug fit.
We were advised by the importer to go up a size but actually found Pearl Izumi's sizing to be spot-on. Taking the extra size into account, the all-up weight is impressive and right on target at this price.
