Giro Savant helmet

Manufacturer:

Price as reviewed:

£59.99

It doesn’t take a savant to realise that Giro’s latest 60-quid helmet is an absolute winner.

It’s adequately vented, comes in a range of well-chosen colours and won’t make your head look like a giant mushroom – though you do have to wonder if Giro had to ‘de-tune’ the styling to stop it from taking away sales from its more expensive alternatives.

Verdict

That said, after extensive testing, we can't think of a single reason not to love the wisely priced Savant.

Bought mine online in red/black/white combo to match red Giant Defy 3. Well priced helmet and great fit. Important to choose the right basic size, even though it’s adjustable.

I received one of these in the neon colour reviewed here, as a b-day gift last summer, from a price-shopper no less! It’s definitely an excellent value brain bucket. The relatively simple array of vents should make for a more durable helmet than those with more intricate designs and numerous holes. But time will tell. It sees service on my commuter/town bike and helps drivers see me in those conditions too.

Size M worked out comfortably with my narrow/long head shape, no unevenness of fit. It’s a good enough affordable design that I’d consider getting a second one in a non-neon colour for a change of scenery.
