Northwave Breeze Pro Rainshield review
Northwave Breeze Pro Rainshield was our most favourite looking on test but let us down in terms of wet weather proofing
Another irritation is that, while the jacket was easy to put on while riding, with one of the best zips, getting it off was another matter. Unless you have small, nimble hands, it’s ridiculously hard to get off, even off the bike, owing to a lack of cuff elasticity.

Arguably the most aesthetically pleasing of the bunch, the Northwave has subtle styling and a well-cut fit, which scored the Italian jacket a few early kudos points. Pleats on the back — best described as ‘gills’ — allow some body heat and condensation to escape; they’re a neat touch that we really liked.
But overall we were left a little disappointed with the Breeze Pro Rainshield. Waterproofing is OK, but only up to a point. In heavier showers water eventually permeated the material to a degree that left us damp and feeling a bit clammy, despite those fishy flaps on the back.
